AccountId

The customer account that is associated with the service point. The AccountId value must be unique. Itron recommends that the AccountNumber and the AccountId for the same service point have the same value.

The AccountId and the AccountNumber can have the same value. However, an AccountId cannot have the same value as another AccountId.

When a new service goes in and you are creating a record in the MDI file for the first time and you do not have an AccountId yet for the location, you can either not send the AccountId attribute at all or you can assign a temporary value such as "Vacant". You cannot send a blank AccountId attribute (AccountId = "").
